Today was a good day! Got a 21 inch small mouth that weighed in at 3.03 pounds and a 22 inch cat that weighed in at 3.36 pounds!! Plus a hand full og other smallies ranging from 12 to 17 inches! I call that a good day.
Car related:
Malibu sucks, CEL came on. Not dealing with that today tho.. ugh.

Nice bass! Those are some of my favorite fish to catch on light tackle. Any day fishing is a good one.

Ha. They get big! Record on the Potomac is like 90 pounds. That is 49" and 50 on the nose.

Im just fishing what remains of the erie canal. Dont expect to find em that big in here haha. Id loke to fight one sone day tho!! Im just getting into the idea og vhasing channel cats. Right now im just figuring out whats out there. So far I have caught: channel cats, smallies, perch, rock bass, large mouth, walleye, drum, blue gills. I hear rumors of monster pike roaming around too. Its crazy cause you never know what you are going to hook on the canal. I had hoped the cat was a pike the way he fought me. On a medium light rig with 8 pound i took almost 10.min to land. He hit me about 30 yards out.. god i love fishing!

Light tackle is the best! Sounds like a place I used to fish in Maine. You could catch basically everything you just mentioned and it was always a surprise. I actually caught that catfish in light tackle - 15lb test. We usually use 60lb braid.
If you ever want to have more fun than should be allowed on fresh water, fish for Sturgeon in Oregon. It’s awe inspiring to see a 9' fish jump all the way out of the water.
Tight lines!

You haven’t fished until you’ve fished for halibut and salmon in Alaska, only to catch rockfish

Actually had a halibut on the line on that trip. But it was the one that got away. We estimated it to be about 35 lbs

Double ouch! Were the rockfish at least fun to catch?
